16. Johann Carl Friedrich IHMSEN was born on 15 Aug 1765.  

• Oct 1786 - Application for prolongation of the Contract of the Emde works, which is granted 21.10.1786, this time though only for 5 years  The schock wood now costs 35 rth.

• 1789 - With the brothers Carl and [Christian] Wilhelm Ihmsen a contract is made to errect a fine and coarse glass works at the Muehlenberg. The contract runs for 20 years to 1809. The widdow Wittwe Henrici at Peckelsheim (wife of Carl(2))? or mother-in-law of Carl(2)?) puts up the security. The contract is made with the baron Clemens August von Westphalen in the name of his mother, the widdowed Mrs. von Westphalen, born baroness von Asseburg.

• Michaelis (Fall) 1787 - Easter 1793 - There exist poll tax lists of the Emde, made up each at Easter and at Michaelis. From them one can see, beisdes the works masters Carl  Ihmsen and Christian Wiegand, also the names of the workers of each of the masters. Employed with Carl Ihmsen were: Johannes Diedrich, Gottlieb Bauerhenne, Conrad und Christian Fiege, Christian Thomas, Conrad Stamm, Franz Bremer. Working for Wiegand were: Glasscutter Isselhorst, Johann Henrich Tes?, Johannes Kohlenberg, Glass painter Conrad Thomas, Jonas Törges / Döries?, Franz Bödeker. This list shows, that at the Emde works about 60 persons were living, with little change until 1793.

• Aug 1792 - Carl Ihmsen and Johann Christian Wiegand is granted the contract for the Emde works for another 10 years. Das Schock wood now costs 40 rth. In a post script to the contract of 12.12.1792 both masters, especially though Christian Wiegand, are ordered to “behave peacefully”. The contract is signed on 22.12.1792 by Johann Carl (3) Ihmsen, as well as Johann Justus Wiegand “in the name of and empowered by my sickly father.

Jun 1800 - The prolongation contract with Carl Ihmsen and Koenig is made out for another 10 years to 21.10.1813. They will receive 12 Schock wood for 12 Pistolen, besides the usual forrest fees. What has happened to Christian Wiegand is unknown. He probably died. It also is unknown, why the son, Johann Justus, exited the contract.

1807 - 1819 - Carl Ihmsen appears as Inspector of the Altmuenden Glass works near Hannoversch Muenden in Hessia, about 150 miles East of Emde. He also owned a house in Hannoversch-Muenden and was the lessee of the cloistre Hilwartshausen, a demesne [or domain or estate).

1827 - Carl Friedrich Ihmsen dies.

The Emde Glass works seem to have been run by Koenig alone latest since the death of  Carl Friedrich. Exact data about this is missing. Koenig is followed from 1852 on by Otto Becker as Faktor of the Emde. The works are closed down 1878. Some of the buildings are standing to this day. Now (2002) aparently emigrants from Eastern countries are housed there.

Johann Carl Friedrich married Dorothea Louisa Justine HENRICI , daughter of Ernestus Christianus HENRICI and Anna Elisabeth HASSELBACH , on 7 Sep 1788.

Children from this marriage were:

    i. Elisabetha Justina Carolina IHMSEN was born on 15 Nov 1789, she died at age 2.
   ii. Henrich Diedrich Wilhelm IHMSEN was born on 7 Jan 1792.
  iii. Charlotta Elisabeth IHMSEN was born on 20 Sep 1794.
  iv. Ernst Friedrich IHMSEN was born on 5 Nov 1796.
   v. Friderica Carolina Florentine IHMSEN was born on 17 May 1799. She died at age 2.
  vi. Henrich August Carl IHMSEN was born on 13 Aug 1801.
  vii. Henrich Friedrich Wilhelm IHMSEN was born on 23 Mar 1804.

Johann Carl Friedrich next married, after the death of Dorothea Louisa Justine, Catharina Friederike RUEDIGER , daughter of David RÜDIGER and Wilhelmine STAHL , on 9 May 1819.

Children from this marriage were:

    i. Carolina Charlotta Maria IHMSEN was born Jan 23, 1820.
    ii. Louise Friederike IHMSEN was born Apr 1, 1822.
   iii. Friedrich Wilhelm IHMSEN was born before 1825.
   iv. Clemens Ferdinand IHMSEN was born Jan 30, 1826.

12. Anna Luisa Elisabetha Dorothea IHMSEN was born on 23 Jan 1757.

Anna married Heinrich Ludolph LINDE , son of Johann Heinrich (von der) LINDE and Anna Engel HAAS , on 31 Mar 1778.

The child from this marriage was:

                            i. Heinrich Wilhelm (von der) LINDE was born on 20 Jan 1792 and died on 11 Sep 1872 at age 80.
                       Heinrich married Anna Margarete HAFKESBRING.

14. Johanna Sophia Friderica Scharlotta IHMSEN was born on 12 Sep 1760.

Joanna married Joannnes Henrich HILMER on 7 Jan 1794 in Istrup.

He worked as a Glassmaker at the Muehlenberg Glass Works.

Children from this marriage were:

    i. Henrich Carl Christian HILMER was born on 4 Jan 1795.
   ii. Christian Friedrich Carl HILMER was born on 23 Aug 1796.
  iii. Georg Wilhelm HILMER was born on 5 Sep 1798. He diedat age 2.
  iv. Henrich August HILMER was born on 23 Aug 1800.
   v. Carl Ludowig HILMER was born on 24 Apr 1804.

17. Christian Wilhelm IHMSEN was born on 3 Aug 1767.

• He worked as Glassmasterster at the Muehlenberg Works.

Christian Wilhelm married Sophia Louisa STUKENBROCK on 4 May 1794.

Children from this marriage were:

    i. Henrich Wilhelm IHMSEN was born on 28 Apr 1795 in Istrup, He died at age 1.
   ii. Henrich Christian IHMSEN was born in May 1797.
  iii. Carolina Dorothea Charlotta IHMSEN was born on 14 Feb 1802.
  iv. Lucia Wilhelmina Carolina IHMSEN was born on 2 Apr 1804.
   v. Carolina Friderica IHMSEN was born on 15 Jun 1806.
  vi. Carl Friedrich IHMSEN was born on 8 Apr 1812.

36. Johanna Wilhelmina Charlotte IHMSEN was born on 16 Dec 1768.

Joanna married Christoph Ludw. SMERZ on 18 Jan 1795.

Children from this marriage were:

    i. Johann Christian SMERZ was born on 6 Feb 1796.
   ii. Anna Amalia SMERZ was born on 20 Jan 1798.
  iii. Charlotta Henrietta Clementina SMERZ was born on 14 Sep 1799.
  iv. August Werner SMERZ was born on 9 Jan 1802.
   v. Christina Louisa SMERZ was born on 25 Jan 1806.

45. Anna Maria Elisabeth Henrietta IHMSEN was born on 10 Nov 1785.

Anna married Carl ESSIGER , son of Ludwig ESSIGER and Juliane SCHRADER , on 18 Nov 1807.

• He worked as Glassmaster at the Altmuende Glassworks.

The child from this marriage was:

   i. Carl Ludwig ESSIGER was born on 20 Jun 1808 in Altmündener Glashütte.

48. Christian Ludwig IHMSEN was born on 22 Feb 1791.

• He worked as a Linnenweaver.

Christian Ludwig married Adelheit BOLLMANN , daughter of Harm BOLLMANN and Alcke BROCKWEHL , on 10 May 1820.

Children from this marriage were:

    i. Hermann Melchert IHMSEN was born in 1823.
   ii. Louise Elisabeth IHMSEN was born on 16 Mar 1830.
  iii. Gesine Margrethe IHMSEN was born on 8 May 1831.
